While screwing around the internet I found a really
cool little java script that basically allows you to stretch and bend
any picture in real-time, online with your mouse. Have
a look for yourself HERE and go and get warped! Very Cool!
This very well be a new feature here at CMHQ!

Ugghhhh....FOOD COMA!
I felt today's POTD
particularly fitting given how most of North America must feel right
now. Thanks to Mr. BrainFreeze for the apt submission. Check
it out right HERE.
Couldn't generate the necessary brainpower to put together any mods
today but I have posted the next few reports in the current Close
Terrain After Action Report and it's now current up to Turn
3. Will Fionn's untarnished online reputation and win streak
finally come to an end? It is VERY possible!
Have a look right through HERE.

02:10 EST
Happy Thanksgiving to all my United States brethren.
The day where we look back and celebrate hundreds of years of screwing
over the original indigenous inhabitants of this great country by
eating turkey and stuffing. Ahh, ain't it grand?!?
Okay, as many of you should know by know we are putting
the final touches on the new TCP/IP patch for Combat Mission and expect
to release a beta version to the public early next week. The list
of other additions, tweaks and plain old bug fixes is VERY
IMPRESSIVE. I can't post the final list as Charles is still
working on it but hopefully I will be given the green light this
weekend to post it. Lets just say it plays real nice and some
nagging issues have been addresses. People will probably be so
blown away by the network code that they overlook all the
changes. You guys are gonna love this.
Okay, so its VERY late, or early and you are wondering
what new is in store for you tonight. Well first off I would like
to call your attention to the POTD. It's a little sneak preview
of version II of the Full Foliage Mod Pack from DD, with some aid from
me of course. This pack includes all new trees, treebases, and
winter terrain. It's vitamin enriched and packed full of all the
things that make you go "Yummy!". So when will it be
ready? Probably by this weekend but
for now you can have a little taste of it right HERE.
Our first two mods were already posted elsewhere on the
net but they were both of such high quality that I wanted to make sure
everyone got a chance to see them.
The first is an update from Gordon Molek to his Churchill
mod. He has now added a camo option and tweaked and cleaned up many
aspects of the original. You can find
this mod in the Allied Tank Section located here.
The second mod is rather ummm, well...Err....
Kinda...you see it's... Its a bunch of hamsters! That's right.
The Cesspools™ own Kitty, known far and wide for her Hamstertruppen
pictures, has taken the time to mod up all the unit info portraits and
turned them into cute little rodents. Even if you don't want to install
this mod you HAVE to take a look. They are so damn CUTE! See
for yourself in the Interface Mod Section.
Our third and final mod is a very nice new Tiger Pz VIE
with a much darker palette of camo colors. It is based on some of
the earlier mods but is different enough to warrant a download.
The nice thing is although it's NOT a Hi-Res texture, it looks like
one. Take a look, you will
find it in the Axis Tanks Mod area located HERE.
OTHER NEWS:
I am currently evaluating the new PC Mod Manager
and will post more news on that when I finish.
The next installment of the Close Terrain After Action
Report should be ready soon.
More mods, including all new grass and Interface
panels.

Tonight's POTD is
rather self explanatory, A bunch of Poles about to go and kick the crap
outa some idiot Australian guy. Long story... Share
the pride right HERE.
The update tonight is just overflowing with mods and if
you own a Mac I can think of no better way to manage them than with
Aikidorats new Version 1.5 Mac Combat Mission Mod Manager. This just
released version now packs sound conversion support as well as some new
enhancements and bug fixes from the earlier versions. A definite most
for all you Mac types and you can
find it all shiney and new, right through HERE.
Before we dive into all the new Mods how about we
stretch out our minds a little? What better way to do that then
to read a brand spanking new After Action Report!?! Well we got a
whopper and if things continue as they have in the early turns, Fionn
might finally get his butt kicked in! Of course, I already did that in
a PBEM, but this time its life for everyone to see. I have the setups
for both sides and opening turn reports as well as movies now ready for
this awesome Close Terrain Defense After
Action Report available HERE.
And to just make you suffer a little bit longer before
I give you the mods, here is a little something to think about next
time you haul out that Topo map courtesy of Max Molinaro. Twin Peaks
perhaps? See for yourself right HERE.
Okay, the wait is over... BRING OUT THE MODS!
Our first contestant looks just spectacular decked out
in a floral print from Louis ummm, hehehe err sorry...Got a little
carried away there. AHEM, anyway. Our first mod is called FULL
FOLIAGE and what it does is double and triple up the amount of trees in
many of the textures. It also adds tufts of underbrush and foliage to
several as well. Combined you get much fuller looking tree areas. This
pack also includes textures for all three seasons in the game as well
as new treebases colored in a way to help distinguish Scattered
Trees from Woods. A very impressive pack and goes well with most of the
major crash textures out there. Have a
looksee right HERE.
Our next mod is another Add-on to Deanco's earlier Total
Conversion Interface Mod. This mod add's many new icons and
graphics to the unit info screens. It's now available in
the Interface Mod Section located HERE.
The following mods are all vehicles and I am just gonna
list them out for you and give the links to get right to them.
Zimmerit coated Tiger
By Tiger, features late war camo scheme
Winter Tiger
also by Tiger, His first Winter vehicle texture
Hetzer First vehicle
mod that I am aware of to be done on a Mac. Very nice!
Tank Destroyer Pack
You get 3 for one in this killed pack from Tiger. Drive around in
beautiful new paint jobs for the M10, M18 Hellcat and M36 Jackson!
That's it. Go forth and be merry!

22:05 EST
And on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month,
the guns fell silent...
Good evening all. Today, as you should be
aware, is a day of remembrance and respect to all of those who
have worn the uniforms of their nation and did their duty. This
respect should be given regardless of creed, nationality or
background. Their nations beckoned and they answered the call and
like in all the wars before and all the wars that have yet to be,
they fought and died. Give them a moment of respectful
appreciation, they deserve it.
Okay, as I thought it would be fitting given the day, I
have just added a new inductee into the Heroes
Corner. Be sure and read of
the extraordinary exploits of Cpl. Townshend during the Battle of the
Bulge right in HERE.
From the palette of Tiger comes another new Mod.
This one is a slightly weathered and worn Wirblewind in a dark camo
pattern. It is up the normal level that we have come to expect
from him. Check it out in the
German Support Vehicle Mod Area.
Tonight's POTD is
fitting I think given the day and is titled simply enough: GUTS.
Be sure to have a look at the Spotting
Reports section as there is a new Dedicated Combat
Mission newsgroup on Usenet! Click the link for details.

Election Day!
In many area of the United States the polls are still
open so if you haven't gotten out and casted your vote for whatever
loser you like then I think you are a very small person and deserved to
be flogged repeatedly with a wet gerbil. Besides, we all know
that our votes don't mean squat but many of the election booth areas
have really good cookies! And, you also get the keen "I
Voted Today" lapel sticker which chicks think are VERY
sexy. I'm wearing mine, ladies!
Okay, since election day politics makes my head explode
I figured it was a good day to roll out Tigers newest damaged building
mod. Many people have said that the default building graphics in
CM were a little too pristine but this mod certainly takes care of
that. Another great offering and it's
available in the Terrain and Building Mod Area.
Tonight's POTD is
another viewer submission and comes from the lens of Perry Rowe. Zoom
up close to this one (although not by much) right HERE.
People seemed to have really enjoyed Fernando
Julio Carrera Buil's newest Panthers and Panther Add-ons with new
insignias and turret numbers and Fernando fired another volley of
additional graphics for use with his new Panther Addon II. Grab
this excellent new mod in the German Tank Mod Section right HERE.

21:15 EST
Greetings all! Another month has flown by now we stand
at the precipice once more together. All of you who make the
rounds on the CM
Forum will have seen the latest TCP/IP update from Steve Grammont
and let me just say that in a word. WOW.
I have been lucky enough to get my hands on it for some serious testing
and all I can say is that if you didn't think it was going to be all
that cool then you need to seriously THINK AGAIN.
Playing with another person at the same time adds a new dimension to
the game that quite frankly, I didn't know existed. All I can say
is that the amount of immersion and anxiety are both upped a great deal
with network play. I can't comment on an ETA but the code is
working and undergoing testing even now so that should give you an
idea. Again, let me say for the record, if you didn't think it was
going to be cool, then I urge you to please try a network game once the
patch is out and see for yourself! I haven't lead you wrong let!
Okay, now lets put that on the back burner and look at
what we have for you this weekend. We begin with another POTD
submission from Scott Osborne. Pretty spooky and
rather fitting considering the recent holiday. Get
a certified treat right in HERE.
Speaking of tricks and treats I have a pair of both
from the Comic of Combat, our own (since no one else wants him) Max
Molinaro. Head over into the Max
Molinaro Gallery Pavilion and Bait Shop
for a couple of his new artistic...ummm....err...works.
While on the topic of pics and POTD's,
now would be a good time to let you know that the POTD
Archive has now been updated and is current up through
October and right into tonight. See
all those past cool pictures from your favorite game right in HERE.
And it wouldn't be an update with out a few mods now
would it? So for the mod masses out there I give to you a
new Panzer Mark IV done up in a Hasty Camo pattern as used by the
Hitlerjugend and a new Sexton Self
Propelled Gun based on the 147th Essex Yeomanry.
Another update is possible this weekend and should have
a new Heroes Corner Inductee, some great new comic POTDs
and maybe even a new Fionn Kelly AAR! Stay tuned!
