Expired: Did You Knows????
01-31-00
Did You Know? Combat Mission has a variety of enhanced functions to aid play. Move lines now follow terrain contours and you can toggle ALL TARGET lines on to quickly see who ALL of your units are
targeting at a glance!!!
01-21-00
Did You Know? The GROUP MOVE function in
Combat Mission is in reality a "Group Select" mode. Once you select a
group you can give them ANY order and they will attempt to carry it out. This
can be a movement order as previously shown or a target order or you can even
give units individual movement commands and then select an entire section of the
map and issue the HIDE command, all your stationary units would immediately hide
and moving units would hide at the end of their moves!
01-10-00
Did You Know? Combat Mission now has
a new feature called Translucent Occupied Buildings! What this means is that
when buildings have friendly units in them the walls will become
semi-transparent and you will see both the wall texture and the unit inside!
This is an awesome effect and we will pictures available soon. It's also
switchable so you can return to the current method!!!
01-07-00
Did You Know? Combat Mission
now has enhanced 'VCR' controls!!! By holding the SHIFT key down and clicking
either the fast forward or rewind buttons you can 'single step' the play back a
second at a time! No more ten second jumps!!! Great for catching that perfect
shot!....
01-04-00
Did You Know? Combat Mission now allows
armored vehicles to lay down their own 'Ambush Markers'! Place one of these
within a vehicles valid line of sight and then target the resulting marker. The
vehicle will then keep a watchful eye on the area around the marker. Great for
when you just know that a Tiger is going to crest a hill in front of you!
12-29-99
Did You Know? In Combat Mission it isn't
always necessary to score a direct hit on "soft" or lightly armored
vehicles in order to kill them. Blast radius and shock force are modeled and a
non-impacting rounds explosion can sometimes result in light vehicles being
disabled.
12-24-99
Did You Know? Combat Mission models
internal armor flaking (spalling) on vehicles when hit. Factors such as target
armor brittleness and type of warhead impacting are all taken into consideration
to determine occurrence and severity of spalling damage.....
12-23-99
Did You Know? Campaigns in Combat Mission
are now called 'Operations' and they can span over several days and nights and
are played on Maps much large than those seen in the Demo!.....
12-13-99
Did You Know? A double-click on an
HQ now "selects" all that leader's subordinate units so you can easily
give them group orders.
12-08-99
Did You Know? Spotting rounds for
artillery FOs are in now! They appear a few seconds (15-20) before the main
barrage starts. Additionally, the pattern in which barrages come down has been
tweaked and is now much more realistic. You can see these new features, in the
(where else?!?) New Features Area.
12-05-99
Did You Know? Friendly fire can
occur dynamically in Combat Mission! Units can misidentify not only enemy
units but friendly ones as well! Factors such as time of day, weather and unit
experience all effect the chances of this happening!
12-01-99
Did You Know? Combat Mission now has
Colored Tracers! Both the Axis and Allies will have different colored tracers.
See how this looks in the New Features section.
11-27-99
Did You Know? Combat Mission now
includes the greatly requested GROUP MOVE function! See how its done in the New
Features Section.
